Park Criteria – Does your business fit into this category? |

The ‘park criteria’ is defined in the lease between the NSW State Minister for Education and the CHTP Board. Key extracts include:
- Proposed tenants are to have a strong emphasis on research, development, and innovation, or education intensive activities, which is reflected in a high proportion of turnover generated at the technology park being spent on those activities [and] an interest in and/or capability to participate in joint research and development projects with the [Education Campus] and/or other park residents; and
- Through the ‘Park Criteria’ provisions of the Head Lease, requires:
that the Board of Governors and SCU and TAFE NSW and [CHTP Ltd] place great importance on the potential for collaboration by occupants of the Park in activities such as research and development, teaching and employment of SCU and TAFE NSW students and community involvement in SCU and TAFE NSW programmes and facilities;
- Occupancy of the Park only by organisations which by their nature, affiliations and activities have the potential to make contributions to the establishment and operation of the Park including but not limited to being able to contribute to any research or educational programmes undertaken by SCU or TAFE NSW and being able to demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with other occupiers of the Park or any research programmes or initiatives;
- Compliance with the Concept Plan [which is defined by the Head Lease as the plan (consistent with the Master Plan for CHEC) adopted by the Board of Directors, from time to time, for development of the Park];
- Commitment to ecologically sustainable development and environmental management;
- Developments at the Park must be consistent with the Master Plan for CHEC
